Tiger Volleyball Awards

Volleyball season may not have ended the way that the girls wanted it to, but a few of the girls had great accomplishments. The girls ended the season with a record of 8-12. Tori Jordan and Chloe Baker ended the season with All-Conference honors.

Jordan, a junior outside hitter, has been on the Wiggins Volleyball team for three years. After playing both junior and varsity her sophomore year, she has been a force as an outside hitter. As a sophomore, Jordan earned Honorable Mention in the Conference. Along with earning her second All-Conference nod this year, she earned Co-MVP and offensive player of the year. Jordan was also voted most inspirational by her team. When asked what she thought about the season she said, “We were a young team with a lot of different talents. Once we put those talents together, we ended up being fairly successful. I am very impressed with the way we grew over the year”

The setter, Baker has been on the Wiggins Volleyball team for two year. She has played Varsity both of her years. In those two years, Baker has helped set up the offense by setting. Her freshman year, she earned All-Conference. Along with All-Conference, her accomplishments this year were Co-MVP, setter of the year, server of the year, and defensive player of the year. Baker says that the program will only be going up because they haven’t lost anyone to graduation. “This year was a building year for us. Next year will be filled with successes, and I am hopeful that we will make it very far.”

Next season starts shortly for the Wiggins Tigers. They start open gyms in early May and have them throughout the summer. This year’s team was very young, and they learned a lot. Since they didn’t lose any starters, they are expecting to do well this year.
